We’re back for one of the annual blogs which is a summary of my clothing spend! You can see 2022 here (low year due to pregnancy), 2021 (my first splurge-y year), 2019 (another low year due to pregnancy), and 2018 (a year that is typical of my frugal years).
The main themes this year
Mainly, I was transitioning my closet away from the NYC climate to a temperate SoCal climate, adding in a bit more white and color. I also explored more upscale brands that had classic styles that I could wear for years. My all time favorite is still Allsaints, and my new discovery is Maison 123. I really wanted to land on a pair of perfect white pants, but alas, I’m really trying to love the Club Monaco pants I bought (and per-item wise, these were the most expensive item I bought this year), but something about the fabric just isn’t sitting right.

This is one of two items I bought just for my 10 year anniversary trip – the Asos swim cover up
one of the Zara dresses I bought. This one is floor length and fabulous
The Jimmy Choo heels I got off of TheRealReal. They were in excellent condition and well worth the discounted price
The version I got of this Maison 123 Carla shirt is white. One of the buttons popped off and had to be resewn on initial wearing, but the fit and cut is great
I’d been looking for the perfect striped shirt and while I couldn’t justify spending $100 on a Sezane one, this one from Ann Taylor came through thanks to the AI driven search function on Poshmark
I was super disappointed to find this dress to be too big but I bought it on Poshmark so I’m reposhing it
