During week 6, Mr. Savemycents and I recovered from the previous weeks and stayed mostly at home. Mr. Savemycents worked a lot. BB went through his 3 month growth spurt / sleep regression and I was feeding every 2 hours and waking up at night as well. The growth spurt thankfully completed after 5 days. Mr. Savemycents and I had a good heart to heart discussion about parenting so far and vowed to continue improving going forward.
Travel and Transportation
Bus – $22 We did not have a car rental this week and used only public transportation. The Bus (or as I’ve been taught to say, “Da Bus”) runs mostly once every 30 – 60 minutes depending on the line you pick and time of day. The coverage of the island in terms of where we wished to go was pretty good! We used Google Maps to time the buses, as many bus drivers themselves were not aware of how one bus connected to another or where to wait. We were able to explore Kaneohe and go all the way downtown to Honolulu thanks to the public transportation. I read while on the bus.
Lodging
Cottage – $400
Food – $231 total spent, $40 value
Oh there was some indulging this week when it came to food. We were invited to someone’s home for dinner! Thank you to E, J, L, and L for your generosity and love.
Misc – $56
Includes a hat for BB because the sun was really strong, a Glass Bottom Boat tour, and a red envelope to celebrate Chinese New Year.
Week 6 totals: $709 cash spent, $40 in free value realized
Trip totals: $4,371 cash spent, $9,148 in free value realized
Enjoy this? Follow along live with me on Instagram as we travel the world for 85 days through March 2020! We have been actively monitoring the coronavirus situation. We recognize there is a possibility our trip could be canceled if things take a turn for the worse. We know how lucky we are that we GET to take this trip. Please pray for all the people who are affected by the quarantines, people who are sick, families mourning the dead, and the brave health workers and other essential workers who are performing their professional duties.
