Featured: Kiplinger – Fresh Voices in Personal Finance

I am honored to have been one of three bloggers documented in this article by Janet Bodnar in Kiplinger called “Fresh Voices in Personal Finance“. It was incredible to have been interviewed by Janet given that she was the former editor-in-chief of Kiplinger for eight years!

Others mentioned in the article include my friends Erin Lowry @Broke Millennial and Cindy Zuniga @Zero Based Budget.

Kiplinger is one of the first media outlets to have interviewed me after I began taking my year long maternity leave and continued my decision to return to work, and highlights the main reasons why:

She has no plans to retire early, but FIRE principles have given her other options, such as taking an unpaid maternity leave and helping to support her retired in-laws. She hopes eventually to establish a scholarship foundation. Her advice: “Have a neutral view of money. It’s not bad, nor is it everything. It’s just a tool.”

Thank you Janet for profiling me. Everyone else feel free to give this article a read!
